Heirloom. Sweet Corbaci is an exceptionally early and heavy-bearing pepper, producing impressive harvests by mid-summer. Each plant can yield numerous slender fruits that grow up to 10 inches long, making it a reliable choice for cooler or northern climates. The peppers vary in form, ranging from straight to gracefully twisted. Harvestable at any point, they begin a pale yellow-green and ripen to red, developing a sweet, fruity taste along the way. This Turkish heirloom—also known as Sari Tatli Sivri—is well suited for fresh use, pickling, sautéing, or drying. Fully ripe fruits can be dried and ground into a richly flavored, paprika-like spice.
