Sugar Baby is a compact, early-maturing watermelon variety that produces sweet, red-fleshed fruits in the 6–12 lb range. With vines that typically run only 5–6 feet, it’s an excellent choice for small spaces and is especially well-suited for growing up a trellis or spilling off the side of a raised bed. Fruits are ready in about 75 days, developing a deep green rind and rich, juicy flavor. Plant in warm, well-draining soil after the last frost, give it full sun and steady moisture, and harvest when the rind darkens and the melon sounds hollow when tapped.Category: Sugar Baby Watermelon
